Todd Schroedel
Ridgway, CO
(970) 318-2160

I grew up in the town of Rochester, Minnesota and graduated from college in 1982 with a degree in education. My nineteen years as a teacher has led me to be an ‘educator’ of real estate as well for my clients. There’s nothing more important than helping my clients understand the ‘ins and outs’ of a real estate transaction.

I represent United Country because of their long-standing commitment to helping people throughout the country buy or sell their properties in a way that respects the needs of the clients. My wife, Darlene and I moved to Ouray County in 1994 with the desire to offer something special for our three daughters, Emily, Anna and Laura. I purchased my United Country office in 2007 with the plan to offer this same ‘something special’ for potential clients from the towns of Delta and Montrose down to Ridgway, Ouray, Silverton, Telluride and Norwood. Emily, now 23, is a licensed realtor in our office with the motto ‘I love this place!’

The Western Slope of Colorado offers something for everyone—each geographic area offers unique characteristics due to climate, elevation, moisture, and exposure. One of the first questions that I ask a potential client is, “What do you want to see when you look out of your windows?” I get many different answers for this question—but can almost always find something that meets their vision.

Give me a call or stop in to our office and let me help you find that Colorado property that’s been your special dream.

Gary Hubbell, Broker/Owner

(970) 872-3322

Gary is a rancher and horseman with 22 years’ experience as a wilderness outfitter, guiding fly-fishing and big game hunts. He is an award-winning writer, photographer, and political commentator. Gary has a strong working knowledge of luxury resort real estate, as well as ranches, farms, vineyards, orchards, sustainable and ski properties in western Colorado. As a buyer’s agent, Gary has many years’ experience guiding clients onto trophy mule deer, a beautiful trout stream, or a horseback ride in the mountains. “Selling real estate is not all that different than guiding,” Gary says. “People want to be educated about the place where they will spend their time, and learn all about the cool things they’ll get to experience. And they want the no-nonsense explanation of the difficulties that they may encounter. Real estate has been a great transition for me from my days of guiding.” In only five years, Gary has built United Country Colorado Brokers into one of the most successful real estate brokerages on the Western Slope of Colorado. “We don’t confine ourselves to just the local area,” Gary explains. “Land is land, homes are homes, and ranches are ranches. While there are intricacies to the local market, our buyers are looking at properties statewide. We may be competing with an outfitting business in Montana or a farm in New Mexico. We have to understand the market all across Colorado to be competitive.” A proud member of the Realtors Land Institute, Gary networks regularly with other land brokers statewide. “I have a good resource to call in every corner of the state,” Gary says. On a personal level, Gary is a horseman, skier, fly-fisherman, hunter, and dog enthusiast, raising Labrador retrievers and Brittany spaniels. He grows hay on 117 acres of ranch land near Crawford, Colorado, and his wife, Doris, trains quality horses for sale. Gary’s two sons, Reed and Jake, are students at Hotchkiss High School, where they’re getting top grades and participating in sports. Gary enjoys volunteering as a youth wrestling coach and chairs the local chapter of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
